Some
offenders are sentenced to a period on probation where part
of the court ordered conditions include being ordered to reside
at the Community Centre. Because of the CRF
unit being in the Centre, we are equipped to help monitor
people on probation by ensuring conditions like abstain orders
and curfews are being met. If an offender does not comply with
those court orders we monitor, on duty staff alerts the appropriate
authorities.
Because
of the wide range in lengths of stay that the courts ask for,
offenders who are on probation may be housed in the CRF
or residential units.
