Residential Services | Men's Hostel

Residential Services is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides a safe place for men to sleep, store their belongings and call home while they are passing through Saskatoon or until they find more permanent accomodations.

Noah's Ark DormRight now we have 38 beds seperated in three different dorms. Each dorm has a locker and we provide showers and free laundry facilities for men who are staying with us. We also have a tv/lounge room (Al’s Place) that we can utilize for overflow on busy nights and if that fills up we refer to other agencies to ensure that no one is forced to be out in the cold.

Many of the men who stay at the Centre are working and we provide a variety of services to accomodate the variety of schedules they keep. This ranges from lunch bags, wake up calls, and if they are working nights, the ability to sleep in during the day.

Our rates are $30 for one night or $73.75 per week. If a client is unable to pay, we approve one nights stay with breakfast in the morning. In the event the client checks in on a weekend, we let them stay with us until Monday morning breakfast. The client would then be directed to either the Ministry of Social Services or their band for any further funding if needed.

In addition to providing emergency shelter and food, the Centre has a chaplain who is in the building during the evenings to be a listening ear, offer spiritual counsel, or assist in the transition back into more permanent housing or find further assistance. Most of the time one can find Major Henri around the Centre but the Front Desk can set up an appointment with him if a client needs to talk at any time.

Our short term and emergency beds have almost been filled to maximum capacity, with our overflow area utilized frequently. This is definitely a viable and much needed service to the community.
