Services | Long Term Residents
Many of
our residential long term clients have a variety of social and
emotional needs that make their living alone or in a group home
unfeasible. We have rooms for five long term clients that fit
that criteria and the Salvation Army Community Centre has become
home for them.
At
our Centre, each long term resident has their own room and a private
washroom. The resident can pay a monthly room and board rate of
$710, or they can choose to just rent their room and pay for their
meals separately. This arrangement works very well for many of
our residents who want independent living but also require a modicum
of supervision.
Our rooms
are small but all include a bed, night table, dresser, wardrobe,
desk, and television with cable. All residents have access to
televisions, microwaves, refridgerators, and computers located
one of our two lounges.
Our staff
is available to help the residents manage
their finances, travel arrangements, or simply lend an ear
if that’s what is needed.
Some of
our long term residents have some medical concerns that need monitoring.
We try to be aware of any medical or dental appointments pending,
and assist the resident in getting to the appointments, ordering
prescription refills etc.
