Volunteer

The Saskatoon Salvation Army celebrates the volunteers that have donated their time with us to improve our community.

Volunteering with The Salvation Army means having a direct and positive impact on local people, children, and families in need. If you’re looking to make an impact, there are several ways you can volunteer with us:

Food On The Move

The Salvation Army Saskatoon provides approximately 300 healthy bagged lunches for children in Saskatoon throughout July and August. We have volunteer opportunities in helping making lunches and aiding our driver in distributing lunches. To volunteer for this program please call (306) 477-2363 or email info@salvationarmysaskatoon.org

Back To School Supply Program

Every year, The Salvation Army Saskatoon distributes over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students in need. We have volunteer opportunities in packing these backpacks with the supplies that children need to be successful in the classroom.

To volunteer for this program call (306) 477-2363 or email info@salvationarmysaskatoon.org

Canpotex Weekend Investment in Nutrition Program

This weekend feeding program is designed to fill the nutritional gaps students may face over the weekend. Generously funded by Canpotex, these bags are filled with easy-to-prepare and nutritious food for the students to take home with them on weekends and return the following week. No additional volunteers are needed at this time to assist with the packing and delivery of these backpacks.

Christmas Kettle Campaign

The Kettle Campaign is a fundraising effort that occurs each year during the Christmas season. As our largest fundraiser, it is an opportunity for the public to donate whatever funds they can to support the work of the Salvation Army. Funds raised support local children and families in need through our various programs, including Christmas Hampers, Back-to-School Program, Food on the Move, and more. All donations made locally remain within Saskatoon.

We are looking for volunteer “bell-ringers” to be a friendly face at our kettles across Saskatoon.

When you donate to The Salvation Army, you are investing in the future of local people, families, and children in need.
